Clemson Literary Festival to be held April 6-8

Clemson University will host its ninth annual Literary Festival featuring world-renowned authors such as the revered Pulitzer Prize Winner and former Poet Laureate to the United States, Charles Simic. The festival aims to promote and celebrate the art and craft of writing. South Carolina Humanities supported this project with a Fast Track Literary Grant in November 2015.

The University of South Carolina—Union will host its sixth annual Upcountry Literary Festival on March 18-19, 2016. This two day event will showcase literary, academic, and musical talents, within the rural areas of the Upstate region and is designed to encourage increased awareness, appreciation, and participation in the humanities.

Following the model of the current BCALA Literary Awards, the new award honors the best self-published EBooks in fiction and poetry by an African American author in the U.S.
