The University of South Carolina School of Medicine Library is proud to host a nationally traveling exhibit entitled "And There's the Humor of It: Shakespeare and the Four Humors." The six banner exhibit is on loan to the library from the National Library of Medicine from July 25 through September 3, 2016, and is currently on display in the library near the circulation desk.

Nicolle Davies, a nationally recognized library leader who was named Library Journal magazine’s 2016 Librarian of the Year, will be Charleston County Public Library’s new executive director, the library’s Board of Trustees announced today.
The Association for Library Service to Children (ALSC) announced that the 2017 May Hill Arbuthnot Committee has selected the South Carolina State Library and the city of Columbia, South Carolina to serve as the host site for the 2017 May Hill Arbuthnot Honor Lecture featuring Jacqueline Woodson (pictured). The lecture will be held in the spring of 2017.
