Annual Library Statistics PDF Print E-mail

Statistics reported by the library as well as selected per capita computations are included. Primary information, as submitted by each public library, is used in all computations. Hard copies or machine readable files are available from the State Library. Where applicable data collected is based on definitions developed by the Federal State Cooperative System (FSCS) for Public Library Data, U.S. Department of Education, National Center for Education Statistics. By using this national system and its definitions of terms, South Carolina's data is more comparable to that reported by other states and the District of Columbia; however, extreme caution should be taken when the data for any library is compared with national or state averages.
