We Need You! LIBRIS is looking for interesting and exciting sessions for the 2014 LIBRIS Conference and we cannot do it without you. If you have an interesting idea, learned something new you would like to share, presented at a regional or national conference, and would like to present your topic again, dust it off, and submit it.

The South Carolina State Library’s Center for the Book will host a book talk and signing on Wednesday, March 12, from noon to 1:00 p.m. at 1500 Senate St., Columbia.

The South Carolina Encyclopedia Guide to South Carolina Writers expands the range of writers included in the landmark South Carolina Encyclopedia. This guide updates the entries on writers featured in the original encyclopedia and augments that list substantially with dozens of new essays on additional authors from the late eighteenth century to the present who have contributed to the Palmetto State's distinctive literary heritage.

Learning Express Library has Changed

Did you know that Learning Express Library has changed?  Learning Express Library 3.0 is a premier database offered to South Carolina residents through Discus - South Carolina's Virtual Library.   Learning Centers for users from elementary school through college and adults seeking new skills or careers offers practice tests, exercises, skill-building courses, eBooks and information you need to achieve the results you want—at school, at work, or in life.  The Library invites users to establish a cubby to store tests and resources they want to use—as often as necessary!—to learn.  However, the Library will be changing very soon with improved functionality, new interactive tutorials,  and more content.  But, users will have to register and set up their cubbies!  Learn about the new features in a webinar offered by the State Library on Wednesday, February 26 at 12:00 pm .  See information and register today!
