Because it is a Federal Documents Depository, the South Carolina State Library has received a four volume set of the Budget of the U.S. Government published by the U.S. Office of Management and Budget. These rather large books contain the Budget Message of the President, information on the President’s priorities, budget overviews organized by agency, and summary tables, which compare spending, national wealth and debt over extended time periods.
On Thursday, March 29, 2012, at 6 PM, visitors to the Laurens County Library will be able to meet Artist Elaine Hearn Rabon. This is part of the Library’s S.M.A.R.T.* (*Super Motivating Activity-Reading Time) program, which provides programs for children and families during evening hours at the library.
Ms. Rabon is the illustrator of children’s books. She will talk about how she creates the illustrations and where she gets her inspiration. She will encourage young artists to pursue their passion for art and drawing.
From the 100th anniversary of the Girl Scouts to celebrating St. Patrick's Day, the Reading Rooster has some great children's book titles to recommend.
